Switching package mid-period on BrewInTH: unused days become credit

Upgrade your BrewInTH package today without waiting for the period to end: the old package's unused days become credit, applied to your next purchase.
Your site is getting busier. You want another project, more storage or a faster CPU, but you only just paid for your current package. The obvious worry: "If I switch now, do I lose what I already paid?" Plenty of people put up with a cramped package until the period runs out just to avoid wasting money.
This article explains what happens on BrewInTH when you change package in the middle of a period: what becomes of the unused days, how the credit is worked out, when it is used, and which changes are not allowed. The short answer: the unused days of your old package are not lost — they turn into credit that is applied for you automatically.
In short
⬆️ Buying a bigger package switches you today; no need to wait for the period to end
💰 The unused days of the old package become credit, in proportion to what you paid
🧾 Credit comes off your next purchase on its own, no code to enter
🔁 Buying the same package again extends it from its end date; that is not a switch
⛔ You cannot move to a smaller package while the current one is still running
What happens when you switch mid-period
When you buy a package other than the one you are on, BrewInTH switches you on the day you pay. You don't wait for the old period to finish. Three things happen at once:

- The new package starts today. Projects, storage, databases, CPU/RAM and bandwidth follow the new package immediately.
- The old package ends today. The value of the days you haven't used is kept as credit on your account.
- The old package's auto-renew is cancelled. You won't be charged for the old package again.
On the Plans & billing page, the card of any package other than yours says so before you buy: "Switching to this plan: starts today; the unused days of your current plan become credit."
Your sites, files, databases and domains stay where they are. Nothing to move or upload again; you simply get more room.
How the credit is worked out
Credit = what you actually paid for that period × the share of time still left, rounded down to the baht. Two examples with today's prices from the Plans page:

Example 1: monthly Starter to Maker
- You bought Starter for ฿99 and used half the month
- About ฿49 of value is left and becomes credit
- Maker (yearly) costs ฿1,499; you pay ฿1,450
Example 2: Maker to Growth
- You bought Maker for ฿1,499 and used about 3 months, so about 9 remain
- Roughly ฿1,124 becomes credit
- Growth costs ฿2,899; you pay about ฿1,775
The real figure is calculated from the time left at the moment you pay, so it can differ slightly from these examples.
Worth knowing: because the credit comes from money actually paid, a package you received through an invite code or a grant from the team (a ฿0 order) has no remaining value to turn into credit.
When the credit is used
Credit is applied automatically to your next purchase, packages and add-ons alike. There is no code to type and nothing to click.
- One-time purchase: the credit comes off the price and you pay the difference. If the credit covers everything, the order goes through at once without a payment page.
- Auto-renew: the credit lowers the first charge, or, if it covers a whole period, becomes free time before the first charge.
- With a discount code too: the code's discount comes off first, then the credit is taken from what is left.
You'll find the balance on the Plans & billing page under Credit balance. Credit history lists "Credit from a plan switch" with the old and new package names, and purchases paid partly with it as "Credit used on a purchase".
Credit is for purchases on the platform only. It cannot be withdrawn as cash.
Which changes are allowed

A bigger package: switch now
A package that costs no less and gives no less of every resource switches right away, as described above.
The same package: an extension, not a switch
Buying your current package again as a one-time purchase extends it from its current end date. No days are cut, so no credit is created. If that package already renews automatically, there is nothing to buy; it is charged when the period ends.
A smaller package: wait until the current one ends
While your current package is running you cannot move to one that costs less or gives less of any resource, because your existing projects might not fit its limits. The Plans page says you can't move to a smaller package while the current one is running; choose it after the current package ends, or contact support.
If you plan to downsize, switch auto-renew off and trim your projects and storage to fit the smaller package before the end date. What happens after a package ends is covered in What happens when your BrewInTH package ends?
Step by step
- Open Plans & billing in the console. The top shows your package, its end date and your credit balance.
- Pick the package you want and read the line under its card: a switch (starts today) or an extension.
- Choose a one-time purchase or tick auto-renew.
- Pay. Once payment goes through, the new package applies at once and the credit for the unused days appears on the same page.
- Next time you buy anything on the account, the credit is taken off for you.
Not sure which package to move to? Ask the coding agent connected to your project:
Look at how this project uses BrewInTH: file storage, persistent storage, database size,
CPU/RAM and bandwidth over the recent period.
Tell me which limit I'm hitting and whether it's time to move up a package.
Don't buy or change anything; just give me the numbers so I can decide.
FAQ
Will my site go down while I switch?
No. Switching changes your account's limits; sites that are online keep running. Nothing needs to be uploaded or deployed again.
Does credit expire?
The platform sets no expiry date on credit. The balance stays on your account until it is used on a purchase.
What happens to the credit if I get a refund for the new package?
The credit created by that switch is taken back at the same time. Credit history shows "Plan-switch credit withdrawn (order refunded)".
I also have referral credit. Can I combine them?
Yes. All credit sits in one balance — from package switches, referrals and cancelled orders — and is applied together automatically. More on referrals in Earn extra income easily with BrewInTH.
Does buying an add-on mid-period count as a package switch?
No. Add-ons sit alongside your package; buying one doesn't end the package you are on, and any credit you have can pay for it.
Summary
On BrewInTH you don't have to wait for a period to end before moving up. Buy a bigger package and it starts right away; the unused days of the old one become credit in proportion to what you paid, and that credit comes off your next purchase on its own. Moving down is possible once the current package ends. Check your numbers first in Your BrewInTH Usage page.
